PA2200

Polyamide

SLS Material

Generality of PA 2200

Polyamide is a class of polymers commonly referred to as Nylon. It is a biocompatible material according to EN ISO 10993-1 and USP / Level VI / 121 ° C and approved for contact with food in accordance with the EU Plastic Directive 2002/72 / EC.

Printing with this material allows a high resolution of the details and a high selectivity, moreover it is characterized by a good resistance to chemical agents, a low coefficient of friction and a good resistance to abrasion.

A typical feature of PA sintered parts is the perfect harmony between mechanical strength and elasticity over a wide temperature range, which makes this material suitable for parts with different geometries, sizes and requirements.

Finishing and post-process of Polyamide

The sintered parts in Polyamide (PA2200) allow the application of various finishes including metallization, spray painting, tumbling, coloring in the impregnation tank and waterproofing by specific treatment in an autoclave.

Properties of PA 2200

PA2200 based laser sintered parts possess excellent properties, in particular:  high strength and stiffness, good chemical resistance, excellent long-term constant behavior, high detail resolution.

Applications of Polyamide

Typical applications of the material are functional pieces with design qualities subject to high thermal or mechanical stresses. It is often used for the realization of prototypes or limited edition series (where the realization of a mold is not economically sustainable), but also for spare parts. The biocompatibility allows its use for the production of orthopedic devices that will come into contact with the skin, while the abrasion resistance allows you to create connections of moving part.
